For most people, this is true provided your microblading artist understands your skin and undertones and how to account for yours. Aging brows often age to an undesirable color. The quality of pigment your artist uses also plays a big role in the color of your brows will age.

Understand, the skin is the largest organ the body has. It has many functions and jobs to keep us healthy. So, regardless of the fact that we choose to have permanent make up, our skin views it as an invasion and injury. Your skin tries to get rid of that pigment. It is trying to heal the skin you just choose to injure because well, that's what it is supposed to do! This is why I stress to my clients how important it is to follow my aftercare instructions completely.

What are some reasons your brows healed red, blue, gray or another color?

Your skin was not in the best health
You were taking medication and/or alcohol was ingested to soon after/before session
The artist did not take your skin and undertones into consideration adding appropriate modifiers (especially Fitz 4 and 5 who tend to heal ashy)
You have older permanent make up
You did not wear sunscreen daily

Why did they heal Blue or gray?

Microblading pigments all have a base color. Many of these pigments have varying degrees of blue in them, this is often the last color to fade out. When the other colors, yellows, reds fade the last one left is blue/gray. Also, when you microblade or microshading over a person that has cooler undertones ( blues, purples, greens) I need to account for those by adding a touch of orange to modify. Even then, depending on your lifestyle, you may still heal on the cooler side. The important thing is that it can be color corrected if this does happen.

An artist should NEVER microblading or microshading directly over an aged brow that has changed colors without accounting for the color.

The picture above shows a brow that has aged red. Before microshading over this brow the redness needed to be addressed. If microshading would have been completed over this brow without the color correction, when the brows were healed, the redness would have continued to show through.
